Submission Process and Author Responsibilities

Authors are invited to make a submission to the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Business Innovation (JSFBI). All submissions are initially assessed by an editor to determine whether they fall within the aims and scope of the journal and meet minimum academic and ethical standards. Submissions considered suitable are sent for double-blind peer review before a final decision is made regarding acceptance or rejection.

Authors must include a clear Declarations section in the manuscript. This section should cover conflict of interest, funding, data availability, ethics approval and informed consent where applicable, author contributions and acknowledgements. If any item is not applicable, authors should clearly state “Not applicable”. Where there is no conflict of interest, authors should write: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.” Manuscripts may be returned to the authors if the declarations section is missing or incomplete.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as images, documents, tables, figures, datasets or other third-party material. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be listed as authors and must approve the submitted version of the manuscript. Where applicable, research involving human participants, surveys, interviews, experiments or sensitive data should have received approval from an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal and institutional requirements of the study’s country. Where informed consent is required, authors must confirm that appropriate consent has been obtained.

This submission must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration for publication by another journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work, the accuracy of the references, and the appropriate presentation of all tables, figures and supplementary material. Any potential overlap with previously published work should be clearly disclosed to the editor at the time of submission.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality, relevance, originality, ethical compliance or presentation. Before submitting, authors should ensure that the study design and research argument are clearly structured and articulated. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This increases the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the manuscript. When authors are satisfied that their submission meets these standards, they should proceed in accordance with the submission checklist.
